Picket fence at Broomfield College Derby: Martin Chambers, Ashdale Fencing
Of all the fencing that we install, Picket Fences are amongst the most popular styles. There’s something comforting about a picket fence that just makes you feel at home. Perhaps that’s why Broomfield College chose a picket for the nursery fence.
The picket fence was to separate 2 parts of the play area, which was floored using Rubber Crumb material. Rubber Crumb, looks like asphalt but provides a much softer landing should you fall on it.
Picket Fencing and Gate, Derby
Ashdale Fencing put the tanalised timber fence posts in and reinstated the new rubber crump around the posts. We then added the 3ft picket gate and planed timber which were also made from pressure-treated tanalised timber. We added stainless steel hinges and catches to the gate.
This wasn’t a huge job, in total there were just 20 ft of fencing installed. We think it looks great though.
Picket Fences For Schools, Nurseries and Parks
Small Picket Fences don’t just look as good as residential garden fences. They are actually very common installations at schools and kindergartens. Because they allow areas to be separated off whilst providing good visibility. Another great feature of a picket is that plants can easily grow through, and around the panels, which makes the area look more natural and pretty.
Pickets work well for school waiting areas and just as a barrier for Park cafes and bowling greens or maybe just as edging to a rose garden. Whatever the use, these Tanelised boards are guaranteed to last for years.
