For this particular project, the customer needed a long and secure dividing fence between two adjoining lorry parks.
We recommended 2m V-mesh fencing because it provided the right balance between visibility, strength, durability and security. With around 300 metres of fencing required, careful setting out was important to ensure that the finished fence followed the required boundary accurately.
The ground conditions made this installation considerably harder than it might appear from the finished photographs. Digging the holes and setting the fence posts was tough work.
Commercial sites often present these sorts of challenges. Ground that has previously been developed, compacted or used by heavy vehicles can be very different from the soil found in a garden or undeveloped site. There may also be old foundations, hardcore and other obstructions beneath the surface.

Once the posts had been securely positioned, the V-mesh fencing panels could be installed to create the 300 metre boundary.

For this lorry park in Ilkeston, V-mesh fencing offered an effective solution.

V-mesh fencing normally uses larger apertures with pressed V-shaped sections that increase panel rigidity. It provides a strong and visible security boundary and is widely used around commercial, industrial and public sites.
358 mesh fencing, often specifically called prison mesh, uses much smaller apertures. The close mesh makes it extremely difficult to gain hand or footholds and makes cutting through the fence more difficult with conventional hand tools.
Where anti-climb performance is a particularly high priority, 358 mesh may therefore be recommended.
